Getting started

01How do I turn Sayso into a keyboard?

After install, open the Sayso app once so onboarding runs. Then go to iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Sayso, tap the newly added Sayso row, and flip on Allow Full Access. Full Access is required because the keyboard needs to reach our servers to generate a reply.

02How do I switch to the Sayso keyboard inside another app?

Tap any text field, then press and hold the 🌐 globe key on the system keyboard and pick Sayso. Or tap the globe once to cycle to it. iOS remembers the last keyboard you used per-app.

03Do I need to create an account?

No. Sayso works anonymously — a random device identifier is enough to use the Free tier and to subscribe. Create an account (email / password or Sign in with Apple) when you want your packs and subscription to travel across devices, or after you upgrade to Pro so the account survives a reinstall.

06How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so you cancel them in Apple's settings: iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Sayso → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro access until the end of the current period. We can't cancel for you and we never see your payment details.

07I bought Pro but I'm not seeing it on a different device.

Open Sayso, go to Settings → Upgrade, and tap Restore purchase. Apple re-delivers any active subscription tied to the Apple ID signed into that device. If you originally bought Pro anonymously, create an account right after restoring so the benefit is linked and survives reinstalls.

08I want a refund.

Refunds are handled by Apple under its standard refund policy, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides the outcome.


Your data

09How do I delete my account?

In the Sayso app, open Settings → Delete my data and confirm. Your account, contacts, scenes, tones, skills, and usage logs are removed from our servers. Deleting your account does not cancel an active Apple subscription — you need to cancel that separately (see question 6).

10Does Sayso see what I type in other apps?

No. The keyboard only processes what you enter, paste, or dictate inside Sayso. We don't log or scrape other apps' text fields. Full details: privacy policy.

11Where does my voice go?

When you speak, audio is transcribed by our speech-to-text provider and then discarded — we don't store raw recordings. The transcript plus your active Scene / Tone / Contact context is sent to an AI provider to produce the reply.


Troubleshooting

12The keyboard says "connection error".

  • Check Allow Full Access is on for Sayso in iOS Settings → Keyboards.
  • Confirm the device has internet (the keyboard needs network).
  • If you're on a corporate or school Wi-Fi, try cellular — some managed networks block AI endpoints.
  • If it persists, uninstall and reinstall. App-Group state will reset.

13Transcription stops after a few minutes.

Single uploads are capped at 5 minutes to keep Sayso affordable. If you want a longer session, release the mic and start a new clip — earlier transcripts stay in your session history.

14"Quota reached" but I don't think I used it up.

Free is 3 generations + 20 transcriptions per day. The counter resets at midnight local device time. If the count looks wrong, email us with your anonymous device ID (shown in Settings → About) and we'll investigate.
